Hotel Delmonico

Has anyone ever stayed at the Hotel Delmonico on Park Avenue? If not, what have you heard about the accommodations. Would you recommend it?

My husband and I stayed at the Delmonico for two weeks when we were waiting to move into our apt. The rooms are huge, like apartments, w/kitchens, living rooms, and lg. bedrooms. However, the rooms are not modern or new. They are very old, and definitely show their age. However, you won't find this amount of space for such a great deal. It served our needs, and the people are very pleasant.

I have stayed there several times, the last time about five years ago. At that time you could get a good deal from Express Hotel Reservations.

I think it is sublime. I had big or gigantic suites, often with beautiful views, always much bigger than my Manhattan apartment. It is a Deco-era building, I would guess--think Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers.

Thank you so much for your response. I don't mind if something is old or historical as long as it is clean, clean, clean with good service. Would you stay there again? Irene

I definitely would stay at the Delmonico again. Yes it was clean. I don't remember any service problems, and I do tend to remember things like that. Be aware, there is no restaurant, but you can order food in, as you would if you lived in an apartment, or go to an all-night grocery store or deli a block away, as you would if you lived here. And you have a whole kitchen, which is a main attraction.
