hotel choice nyc

I am headed to nyc for a few days of r&r. I am deciding between The Ritz Carlton Central Park, or The Palace. I will want to spend some time at the spa. I will be alone, with the exception of meeting DS and DD after work for dinner. Will I be more comfortable in one location over the other? Thanks for your thoughts.

I think the Ritz Carlton will provide better personal attention since it's much much smaller. Their spa is La Prairie which is well known and considered very good. That said, I think room prices and spa prices at the Palace will be a fraction of the price of the RC (Palace has been running some very good specials recently) and is still very nice.

Definitely the RC with its fabulous views of Central Park!

I love The Palace but its rooms simply cannot compete with a view of The Park.

If $ are not an issue definitely the RC, rooms much larger and more confy. IF $ matter you can get great deals at the Palace. They're close together and areas are similar - primarily business oriented - but RC is near the Park.

the Ritz and the Palace are not in the same league. If $$ is no object, by all means stay at the Ritz.
