For a group of young girls -- I'd feel much better if they stayed at the Wharf rather than in that area of Geary. For those of us who know SF, it would be OK (though not great), but for strangers -- not so much. Too easy to wind up in the place.

Chancellor is a very nice hotel with excellent staff. It's a big city, there's sketchy sections which the concierges will be all too happy to clue them in on,.
