Hilton Arlington - Reviews and Parking

Greetings!
I just got Hilton Arlington on Priceline (5/16-5/18). I've seen earlier comments about this hotel. However, I also heard that it recently underwent major renovations. Anyone stayed there recently (last 4-5 months or so)?
Also, with regard to parking, are there any alternatives to parking at Hilton's garage? They charge $13, which I think is reasonable, but still... Any municipal parking in the area? I see on the metro map that the next metro station has a public garage, but have no idea how far it is.
Thanks in advance for future responses.

As far as parking goes...
The Ballston Commons Mall is connected to the hotel by a skywalk system, and the mall has an 8 story parking garage. Whether or not it would be cheaper, I don't know. If you're lucky you could find on-street parking, but be sure to read the signs for any restrictions!

Thanks, Jnn!

I checked out the Ballston Public Garage's website. It looks like they charge $1/day on weekends. Open 24/7. Very close to Hilton. Seems perfect for my purpose!

I stayed at this hotel in July when I was looking for a place to live. I now happen to live in an apartment across the street. The hotel is great, and as you might guess, I like the area. The metro (subway) is directly beneath the hotel and it is about a 10 minute ride to Foggy Bottom, the first stop in DC, so it is very convenient. The area around the hotel is great, with several convenient restaurants, and the Ballston Common Mall about a block away. The mall has a big movie theater.

For parking, you might look into the garage at the mall as someone suggested. Be careful of parking on the street. It is metered, and you will have to feed the meter every two hours during the week. I would just leave at the hotel, though. It is worth the money for the convenience.

Carte,
Thanks for your reply. I got this hotel for $45/day. The reviews I read online were somewhat mixed, so your endorsement of the place definitely puts my mind at ease

Regarding parking, $13 is very reasonable, especially compared to downtown DC. However, as my previous post indicates, the garage at Ballston mall charges $1/day on weekends (at least that is what their website says); I will probably go with that option.
