I haven't stayed there but I've seen it-it's a 50s style motel (2 story drive up etc.) The neighborhood isnt' bad but you could probably do better on priceline or hotwire.

I would second the suggestion for priceline/hotwire. Try looking at Biddingfortravel.com That should give you some ideas of what others have been able to get on priceline for the area. Just FYI, I booked through hotwire and stayed on Michigan Avenue at the Westin for around $80 a night. Good luck.

rnbtr, I am assuming you're talking about the Best Western at 162 East Ohio Street, about a half a block from N. Michigan. I've stayed there once and found it a perfectly fine tourist class hotel. Rooms are on the small side but about what you might expect in a big city for $100. We had a great view and could even see the fireworks at the Navy Pier (friends we were travelling with weren't so lucky).

I don't know what swalter518 is talking about.

Obx I'm talking about the Best Western that is or was located at Ohio and around LaSalle, about one block west of Sportmart, south of Carsons, etc.

Thanks swalter518 for the clarification. I just assumed the poster meant the BW on East Ohio because he/she wanted to be close to Michigan.

I think you mean the Best Western River North. If so, it offers free parking (or used to) and is fine. Not luxurious but fine. A few blocks to the Mag Mile.
