A couple of years ago when I was in the city I had dinner at a Brazilian(?) or Argentine(?) restaurant where the waiters circulated with huge skewers of beef, lamb, etc. and carved off all you could eat at the table. There were red/green tokens to put by your place signalling when you wanted more. I think it was in the Times Square area--or not too far--but I can't remember the name of the restaurant.
