Help with Noveember weekend getaway

Hi, We are trying to plan a long weekend get away during Vetrans weekend in November. There are 12 of us 6 adults and 6 kids ages 6 months-17years old.We live in N. Florida, 1 family lives in south Florida, and 1 family lives in New Orleans. we have 3 nights Thursday-Sunday. We were thinnking Orlando (UGH) I'm so sick of it. The beaches are too cold in November, so that's out. We are trying to find something to keep the kids happy. I can't think of anything. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

Um, what do you want to do?

Where is the farthest place you could go?

I will suggest what I always suggest- Why not DC?

Aren't there packages to someplace a little south for long weekend like Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Mexico. (An issue to deal with then would be everyone would need a passport, even baby)

Thanks for the fast response. The only problem with the Caribiean is, flying out of Jacksonville Airport is difficult to the Caribean. Because we only have few days it would be hard. We did DC last year. Keep the ideas coming.

It'd help if I knew what your interests are- as well as the weather/enviroment type you're looking for

Maine coast? Oh, it'll be cold, but off season (cheap and uncrowded) and BEAUTIFUL.

You can tell you've lived in Fla. too long if you think the beaches are too cold in Nov. We go to Amelia Island in January every year. LOL. We always go to the Mts. in November, the leaf watchers have vacated but you still have bright sunny days to hike & such, & the nights are great for campfires & hot tubs. You could fly into Asheville but it would be just as quick to fly directly into CLT & drive over 1 1/2 - 2 hours. In addition the wineries in between will have some of there new wines out, etc. We're also going to Key West over Thanksgiving, another thought.

Maine sounds ideal for you, then....

And looks like there's lots to do in Asheville (nature center for the kids)

Check out this link-

Are the kids interested in horseback riding?
