Help with N.Y.accomodations for three friends

We are traveling the 19 of April, to celebrate my sister in law birthday and
mine too. We are three friends, and I am
all confused and undecided about the Hotels.
I was looking for a one bedroom suite.
Undecided between the Shelburne Murray, the
Eastgate Tower and the Affinia Manhattan,
and the San Carlos Hotel?? We would like
a good Manhattan location, but not very
pricey, around $300 or $340.00 a night.
Please help me to decide.
Thanks!!!

They're all fine but in order of niceness, starting with the best and working down

San Carlos
Shelburne Murray Hill
Affinia Manhattan
Eastgate Tower

Don't know if you realize the Affinia.com group has 7 all suite hotels of which you've got 3 listed (the last 3 on my list above). The San Carlos is near the Affinia 50, but the San Carlos is bit nicer/newer furniture. The San Carlos also evidently has some 1 bedroom suites with 2 bathrooms (or 1 1/2) that might be good for your group of women.

The Affinia Manhattan would be my least favorite location near Madison Square Garden and Penn station (not an attractive area and lacking in nice evening dining) but many tourists like it b/c it's near Macy's and the Empire State.

I would suggest the Affinia on 34th St as probably a better location. You are closer to transportation and there ARE lots of restaurants within walking distance both up and down 3rd AVe.

Wolfgang Pucks is just a couple of blocks away on 33rd and Park, and up 3rd AVe is Docks which is one of the best seafood restaurants in town.

Also there are buses on either side of the hotel going up and downtown and the bus that goes across 34th ST stops a few feet from the hotel.

Have a great time while you are here.

Wolfgang Puck does NOT have a restaurant in Manhattan. The restaurant is Wolfgang's, a steakhouse, having nothing to do with Wolfgang Puck.
