Help! Taking Redeye from Las Vegas-Hotel Options?

We're taking a 1:40 a.m. flight back to New York on Saturday night. We have all day (and I guess most of the evening).

Since it's so late, we'd rather not wander around Vegas, and thought of grabbing a room somewhere just to hang out until our flight. Also thinking about asking Mirage for a late check out on Saturday, although I don't think it'll be late enough.

Are there any other options or suggestions?

Thanks you much!

Its VEGAS girl! You are supposed to stay up and hang around...lol.

You are only talking until you leave for the airport at 11:30 or midnight. How about going to a 9PM show if you don't want to do the casino thing? Hang out at the dueling piano bar at NYNY or numerous other establishments. Heck the fountains at Bellagio are still running at that time. There should be plenty to keep you occupied on a Sat. night at that time.

I think one of the reasons the Saturday night redeye flights are so popular is that Saturday night hotels in Vegas are so expensive!

You could certainly check and see what you can find, but I bet it'll be pricey.

And I'd guess a late checkout would probably only give you till mid-afternoon anyway, but that may be better than nothing.

The hotel will hold your bags, and as placeu2 said, enjoy what time you have left in Vegas! You could plan for a late dinner that night in a nice restaurant and that should kill a couple of hours.

You could also potentially visit a spa that day and have the use of their soaking tubs and facilities. Don't know about the fees or options for that.

I think catching a show that night also sounds like a great idea!

Hmm, you can try Pricelineing a cheap room off the strip in the UNLV zone (closest to airport). Other suggestions to how to spend the afternoon/evening would be:
1. Play bingo at Harrah's
2. Visit Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden
3. See a movie or two at United theatres on the strip
4. another big screen movie at the Imax at the Luxor
5. evening show through half price tickets at the giant coke bottle on the strip

Hi.

I feel your pain. I’ve caught the red-eye back to DC before. I’ll never do it again. Late checkout isn’t going to help you that much. I’d be really surprised if they could even keep your room until 6pm. You can certainly check your bags with the bell desk.

Do you have a car for your trip? I found that heading off Strip for a while before catching the red-eye was good. We headed out to Sam’s Town to see the laser show, have dinner and slow down for a while before heading to the airport.

Seeing a show on Saturday night would be a good way to pass the time, but it might cost more than a room depending upon the show.

You can always do something like Priceline and take your chances. It is my understanding that if you search Priceline for a 4 star hotel downtown, the only option is the Golden Nugget. That is the nicest place downtown and might be worth a try.

Whatever you end up doing, I would suggest staying out late on Friday and sleeping in on Saturday so you have less time in general on Saturday.

Does this mean you went with the Tower Suite at the Mirage?

Take Care,
Mark
