The line spaces between paragraphs do seem to disappear when using Word. A simple fix is to hit "preview my reply" before posting. Then go in manually and do it.
Kind of annoying and time-consuming, but it gets the job done.
When I use bold or italics, they never transfer either. So I manually do those too.
Hope this helps.

When transfering from Word, various Word "escape codes" get embedded in the text.
What I do is write my report in Word, then copy and paste it into Notepad (don't bother saving it in Notepad save it in Word), then copy and paste it from Notepad to here.
Of course, while in Notepad it will look very "wide" but that's ok.
Going to Notepad removes all formatting codes except line changes.
Works perfectly.

Hi C,
Write the entire report in Word.
Save it as a Word document for future reference.
Save it again as a "plain text" document.
Copy and paste here in sections of about 500 words on a single thread.

I've been posting trip reports for years and have never been successful when writing in WORD, then copying/pasting to fodors.
What works is typing in an email window, like hotmail or google then copying/pasting to fodors. Hope this helps.
