Trip report formatting ???

Sorry to post this here rather than the lounge, but this is where I recall reading about this problem. Though I can't find that post now that I need it.

I want to post a trip report but I want to take my time and write it on my computer then cut and paste it to Fodor's. I recall that if this is done in Word it causes strange things to happen, like apostrophes that become question marks.

It was pointed out that this could be avoided by composing the report in something other than Word. Anyone remember this and what the format to use was?

Thanks,
Fran

I use word pad and the only thing it does is take the bold type away that I've taken extra time to place IN the report - that I don't like but I guess I can live with it.

Try saving your Word doc as "Text Only" and then copying & Pasting. Should have few problems.

Thanks to both of you for the quick responses.

I mentioned this to DH just before checking here and these are the same two options he told me. Don't know why didn't think to ask him first. He's the computer guru around here and I should have known he'd have the answer. But maybe this will help someone else here on Fodor's.

I write it on 'notepad' - copy and paste from there. No problems.
