I have flight booked LAX to JFK then JFK to SXM and only 45 minutes in between & going from terminal 8 to 9. Is this possible?!! Or would you take a flight leaving an hour earlier from LAX? I need to confirm today.

If I were you, I would call the airline to ask them what the minimum connect time is for JFK. All airports have them; also, is it a true connection or did you make it up with 2 one ways?

Leave an hour earlier and make sure you get a seat towards the FRONT of the plane to make your transfer easier!

Then you won't have to worry if your flight takes off a bit late.

Are you switching airlines or one the same airline? If it's the former, I would definately think about moving my flight up.

Think about it this way, figure at least 10 minutes to get off the plane and maybe make a pit stop. At least 10 minutes to walk between terminal 8 and 9, which are connected.

Do you need to clear security again and check-in again? If so, that'll add time.

If it's a flight on the same airline, unless someone circumvented their mandatory minimum connection, then it likely is feasible.

If it were me and getting to St. Martin was my goal, not sure I'd risk a delay for an extra hour in LA.
