Help me pack for Phx/Sedona/Grand Canyon this week!
I'm getting everyone's clothes out today (kids, mine and husband's), and I'm trying not to overpack. I know it will be chilly at night at the Grand Canyon next week, but what about Sedona and Scottsdale? We are planning on eating outside and seeing a baseball game. Will we need long sleeves, jackets or sweaters for those places, or is it warm enough at night to forgo them?
We'll be hiking into the Grand Canyon. Do you think we'll be wearing long pants or shorts? I just have no idea of the temps and how much they vary between night/day.
Last question, the nicest places we'll be dining are the El Tovar Dining room and the outdoor patio grill at the Arizona Biltmore. Am I correct in assuming that these places are casual and that no jacket is needed? Thanks!

Check out the weeks weather at the Grand Canyon:

This week looks like the highs at the Grand Canyon will be in the high 60's but if you are there on the 14th then expect snow!
Kind of sums up how the weather can change this time of the year.

EEeeeeekkkk! SNOW??? We will be there on the 14th. Our days in the GC are 13th and 14th. It's snowing here in CT today. I guess there's just no escaping the evil white stuff this year. When will it end?
Thanks Utahtea, I guess I'll go pack the hats and gloves.

A couple of years ago we tried to go to the Grand canyon at this time of year. We got snowed on enough that the roads to the GC from Flagstaff were closed, yet the local weather forecasters said "meanwhile in Phoenix, its a balmy 70 degrees". We loaded up, left the 8+ inches of snow and went south, it was snowing in Sedona also that day but just south of there, Montezuma's Castle to be exact we just needed windbreakers. So as utahtea stated be prepared for anything. HAVE FUN!

Right now, it's shorts and tee shirt weather during the day in Phx/Scottsdale area. Mornings and night can be chilly. You might want a light sweater or sweatshirt. Everything in this area is basically casual as far as dress is required.
