Help in Birmingham

We are planning on attending the PapaJohns.com Bowl in Birmingham, AL. Any ideas on accomodations? We will be accompanied by several children. Any help greatly appreciated!

jfireteach-Just stay away from Hotels near Legion Field! It's not a very safe area! Anywhere around Hoover, Riverchase or Hwy 280 area would be OK! What's your budget?

DH used to call Birmingham "Never-Neverland"--because you never, never want to land there. sorry--one more day of school until winter break.

TrvlMaven-Birmingham is a fantastic city to live in as long as you pick the right area! It's no worse than any other large, urban city! But if you are referring to the airport, I understand the statement!

I stayed in Birmingham at a hotel across the street from the Vulcan. I think it was the Crowne something Suites. It was great and had a wonderful free breakfast bar. Don't stay in Birmingham proper. south side is much safer.
