I hope I gave the correct information regarding checking CalTrans. My brother checked for the road conditions and I thought he said that he checked CalTrans, but I may be mistaken. My sister and parents were stuck in the traffic and called to let us know about the road conditions as my brother and I were leaving the next day.

The drive from LV to LA is interesting, esp. with a colorful sunset. Should be nice in the morning. It is definitely different from eastern PA. Then when you get to El Cajon Pass and wind on down to the LA basin it is beautiful. It's an easy drive when the traffic is light and you can make the trip in less than four hours. Shouldn't be many people going your way on a Saturday morning.

Since you are flying from Philly I suppose that you are flying USAir? If that's the case then if you choose to fly LAS to LAX it would be best to choose USAir or Southwest since they are in the same terminal at LAX. Other carriers would be ok depending on how much time you would have between flights.
