Help Finding New England or NY State Family Reunion Site

Hi--hoping someone here can help me. I'm trying to find the perfect site to hold a large weekend-long family reunion in Summer of 2006. Probably 70-100 family members with diverse ages (from 1-77!) and interests from Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, California, Ireland, etc.

Minimum requirements:
Location--looking at either New York State, Vermont, Maine, or southern Quebec or Ontario.
Price would be a major consideration for some family members, so camp sites would be good. Others would rather die than camp, so a regular hotel type room or cabins nearby or onsite would be needed for some. Food--either available nearby to cook or restaurant onsite. Activities: swimming definitely, hiking, a cabana or lodge for rainy days or evening get togethers.

Not sure what price range everyone is looking at. I figured I would get some options and see what kind of response I get. I found one place that looks perfect: the Point Sebago lodge in Southern Maine, but would like a few more options.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Cindy

Montauk, LI, NY. Nearest airport Islip MacArthur (ISP) as a good alternative to JFK (2 hr drive from JFK although you can take public transport from hamptonjitney.com. Also drivable from up north with ferry options from CT.

Ferry info New London to Orient Point
https://www.longislandferry.com/Default.asp
Then you'd take 2 ferries to cross Shelter Island arriving in Sag Harbor.
There's another ferry from Ct to Port Jefferson, further west on LI

Camping on or near the beach plus several big motels right ON or across from the beach.

Best big motel on the beach IMO Panormaic View

Right next door is Gurney's Inn (fancier with a spa but not worth the $$$ IMO)

Lenhart's Cottages is small but terrific across from the beach. Hartman's Briney also good.

Horse back riding, fishing (charter boats abound), surfing, nice restaurants from fancy to very casual.

FYI, from what I understand, water is Maine is not really swimmable until August.

Another idea you might consider is somewhere in Canda since the US dollar is strong there. You might want to post on the Canada board

Thanks for your responses. I posted this on the Canada website also--I tried but lost interest in finding sites in Canada--not familiar with the various areas there, so I figured if one of the Canadian families wants to help out with locations, I'd wait for their suggestions. But maybe a Fodors reader will come up with something...

I'm familiar with Montauk--I live in NJ and vacationed in Montauk lots of times, including one weekend at Gurneys. But it would be too far for many of the people coming for this reunion--would be nice though.

There is a place in Western, Mass called Eastover (eastover.com) that hosts conferences, has family weekends. I believe it is an informal, but all-inclusive price and that includes all sorts of activities - both water activities plus sports, etc.

Don't know if it will fit price range. While you said some people may want to camp, that would really only be practical for those driving to the reunion - can't imagine those flying from CA or Ireland bringing camping gear.

I haven't been there but friends have gone in the winter to Smuggler's Notch in Vermont. This is a link to their summer programs. http://www.smuggs.com/summer/
