Hearst Castle Accomodations

Any recommendations? I'm looking at San Simeon (pickings are slim) or Cambria (seems to have more diverse options). We are open to anything - motel/inn, B&B, near the water or not. Just want something we are comfortable in for 1 night.

Thanks!

We are doing the same thing. I ended up making reservations at the Fireside Inn in Cambria. Price wise and locations it sounded really nice. Most Everyone told us to stay in Cambria. Cheers

We just stayed at the Burton House in Cambria for one night and I can't say enough nice things about it. I was a little concerned since the price was so reasonable--$189 for a family suite which consisted of two adjoining rooms. There is a fridge in the room that the innkeepers stock with juices, bottled water, brie, yogurt and pastries. Both of the rooms were beautiful and had wonderful linens. The bathroom was very large and luxurious. They have a huge video library and VCRs in every rooms. I could have stayed there for a week!

Cambria is one of my favorite places in the state! You'll love it. We have stayed at the Fireside a few times. It's a BW property, clean and comfortable with a nice pool and jacuzzi, accomodating front desk.

We have also stayed at The Blue Whale B&B which was nice, but not pool or jacuzzi but the breakfasts here are REALLY good.

Our latest stay was at the Cypress Cove, which was my favorite. Quaint place, we had the oceanview king suite which was wonderful. Nice breakfast in the am. All these properties are located right across the street from Moonstone Beach which we love.

We recently spent my birthday there, and had a nice dinner at the Sow's Ear Cafe. We also enjoy the Moonstone Bar & Grill, which has nice views of the ocean. Enjoy Cambria! ***kim***

thanks everyone - cambria it is! Still not sure which property but I think price/availability will determine that - it's only for one night.
