Healdsburg B & B's with two double beds in one room?

Hi,

After reading many many posts, we have decided to stay in Healdsburg for 2 nights from 5/4/08 to 5/6/08. This will be our base for wine country.

We really want to stay in a B&B but it seems like all the rooms have but one bed in the room . I will be traveling with a coworker and we each want our own bed.

Can you recommend any that have maybe two double beds in a room?

I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Thanks,
Linda

I doubt you'll find that in a B&B. Try a cottage or apartment. Downtown Healdsburg is GREAT! Spend a day on foot going to tasting rooms, shopping, eating, etc.

Thanks for the response. I checked those but they are a little to pricy for us. I really would like to stay under $250.00 if at all possible.

Any other suggestions?

If we stay at a hotel not within walking distance of the plaza, is parking a nightmare if we want to go there?

I just checked the Madrona Maor, a lovely B&B where we stayed last May. It is a 5 min drive outside of the town center of Healdsburg, and is a gorgeous place with unbelievably beautiful grounds and gardens. When we were there (May 8--11), the orange blossoms were in bloom and the entire place was perfumed w/their scent. For your dates, they are showing one room w/two queen beds as being available. My husband and I both thought it was a wonderful place to stay. Here is the site, if you care to investigate... http://www.madronamanor.com/reservation.htm

Re: the parking, we were in Healdsburg on a Sunday-Wednesday last May and had no problem parking in town. Occasionally we had to circle once or park on a side street, but no nightmares!

Linda, part of the whole experience there is personal service and pampering, I think. However, if budget is really a concern, then I wouldn't hesitate to mention the Best Western Dry Creek. Certainly no frills, but just fine for a place to stay and very convenient. Not a great walk to town...about a mile on pretty busy street with bad sidewalks (we walked it once) but easy to get to town, etc.

The room I saw w/2 beds that was available at Madrona Manor is only $260 and they include breakfast---hence the 2nd B of B&B --We loved the place so much!! It was so gracious and civilized.

Hi,

I booked the room at the Madrona Manor and because I have AAA got it for $234.00 . I cannot wait to be there. Thank you all for your help. Now, I just need to book one night in Carmel or somewhere in that area.

If you are starting your Carmel search, we are looking forward to staying at Vagabond's House Inn this summer...never stayed there but it looks great.
cheers,

You are welcome, Linda. Others on this board have recommended hotels that we really loved--Madrona Manor being one that came from another Fodorite--and it is nice to be able to do the same for others.
