Hawaii, private jacuzzi, exotic room, romantic atmosphere

Looking into either a villa or possibly a resort that has the above. Don't want the standerd hotel type rooms, like the all-inclusive option although not a necessity. On the beach, very romantic for honeymoon in October. Does this place exist? Also with a budget of around $5-6000 for 7-14 days. Hurricane season in the Caribbean so thinking Hawaii. thanks!

Four Seasons Big Island. Only one hotel in Hawaii (Kona Village) is all inclusive and has no TV in the rooms. I would definately suggest the FS. My ocean view standard had a jacuzzi and rooms are beautiful. Cost around 4k for the week.

Hello Mandy,

I was looking for the same place I did find a few but there was a slight problem... the properties were too close together. So, that greatly dampened the privacy factor. If you dont mind hearing your neighbors, seeing your neighbors, etc then kudos for you

I ended up getting a place much further from the beach/ocean. MUCH In the upcountry. I was very unsure about this but now I am very happy that I did. Reason being, this place is central to everything. North/West/South coast it's smack in the middle. So it makes life easier for us check out all of Maui.

Good luck,
JJSoon

Yeah, it is central to everything except the ocean and the beaches, two of the major reasons people go to Hawaii.

Nova,

That's relative to the individuals. We're not really big on beaches, spending a few hours on the beach every day is sufficient. Since we're from the east coast, we're used to driving 20-35 mins -- that's close to us. So, we're cool with it. Every thing the poster listed are present, plus indoor and outdoor fireplaces.

Take care,
JJSoon

Hi. My husband and I were married on Maui last September. Gorgeous! We then went to the big island for 1 week. We stayed up country,(renting a jeep is a must, as there is PLENTY to do and see)in a private rental home. At around $225.00 per night USD, it was considerably cheaper than a hotel, and definitely more private. We had a private jacuzzi in an open atrium enclosed by the house. We also had a private waterfall pool. There are many good restaurants in Kona. I too like the convenience of all-inclusive resorts, but Hawaii is not that type of vacation. Also, if you rent a private home, you have the convenience of a kitchen. A really good guide is Inside Hawaii. Hope this helps.

Thanks to you all. Sorry its taken me so long to reply back, holidays! Vicki, could you tell me the name of the villa you stayed in, it sounds wonderful. Do you recommend the Big Island or Maui? I dont think we want to island hop too much, being it will be our honeymoon. Thanks again!

Mandy, you might even consider a house rental in beautiful Lanikai on Oahu. Yes, Oahu certainly is far more crowded than the other islands, but Lanikai is a very beautiful and peaceful area on the East side of the island away from Waikiki, and I think you will find the beach there -- more so than any other in Hawaii -- very close to Caribbean-like in its beauty, color, and calmness. Check it out!

The Hotel Hana Maui is fantastic. They are beautiful little villas, some with private jacuzzis on their lanais, on thousands of acres in the best part of Maui. They are on the beach and the beach there is phenomenal. You will be blown away. There is also a spa and horseback riding, tennis, and the beauty of Maui.

I thought that Hotel Hana Maui was not on a beach - although on rocky waterfront - and they bus you over to Hamoa Beach for swimming. Is this wrong?

No, Hotel Hana Maui is not on a swimmable beach but it is a beautiful beach for looking at the magnificent maui scenery. They take you to the beach but not by bus. And the beach they take you to is private and secluded and romantic.

I'm a little shocked that a previous poster eliminated consideration of Kona Village Resort because there are no TV's in the rooms! They're on their HONEYMOON dude! KVR is a lovely property with around 110 individual thatch-roof hales, Many with jaccuzzis on their porches. It is all inclusive, and a wonderfully romantic honeymoon spot. Not only are there no TV's, there's also no air conditioning, and no locks on the doors, just great island feeling! And the staff could not be more welcoming or gracious.
