It's right near City Place for Shopping and restaurants...there's also a free trolley from City Place to Clematis Street for more shooping and eating. Beach is just a short ride over the bridges to Palm Beach....also more shopping and eating there. The Hotel is in an OK location for venturing out...OK pool...but right off the highway so not a "resort" type feel to it....more of a "business" feel. If the price is right, it's a fine location.

There is a Fairfield Inn on Palm Beach and a Marriott in Palm Beach Shores.
West Palm Beach is the inland city and Palm Beach is the barrier island.
West Palm Beach isn't oceanfront.
The areas surrounding Palm Beach are very nice: Boca Raton, Jupiter, Hobe Sound, Singer Island, I wouldn't rule any of them out. Some of the priciest real estate in the US.

Marriott Ocean Pointe @ Palm Beach Shores. It is a Marriott timeshare property. You might be able to get a good rate if you're willing to do the timeshare dog & pony show.

The Marriott in Delray Beach is at the end of Atlantic Ave. at A1A (shore road). Directly across the street from big public beach. At this location, you can walk to the very upscale/trendy restaurants, boutiques, galleries along and off Atlantic Ave. It is the best Marriott for the combined access. If you need easy beach access AND need to be very close to WPB (Delray is 20 min. south), then stay at a hotel in Palm Beach itself where you can walk to Worth Ave restaurants, etc. But beach access is dicier. Directly on the beach at the south end of Palm Beach are a Four Seasons and a Ritz Carlton, but you will drive to everything.
