Has Anyone stayed at the Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort in Cape Canveral, FL???

Hi, please give me any thoughts or comments on this resort. It seems rather pricey for this area, I know the waterpark there looked really cool though. We are thinking of staying here for two nights next June before our cruise if the $400/night rates come down at all. I will have three kids ages 6, 4 and 11 months at the time and think they will love it. Are the rooms nice?? Any particular good room/spot at the resort??

$400 is very pricey for the area.

mrt, I haven't been inside the resort. Is it really like the Ron Jon store? Neon everywhere?

thanks to mrt and 321, anyone else out there stayed at this resort that can help also. Are the one bedroom villas at all nice or not a great place?? I just know my kids will love the pool areas and beach. It just seems pricey. How about the Radisson nearby there?? anyone have any comments on this resort right near the ports??? Thank you!!!

The Radisson is nice. The rooms are very nicely decorated but a little on the small size. However, there's a new section that may have larger rooms as mine was considered a single even though it had two queen beds. The pool area is VERY nice.

We stayed here last July because my FIL has a timeshare so we stayed for free. I don't think I would spend 400$/nt. tho'. Go to tripadvisor.com and put Ron Jon Cape Caribe in the search there are alot of reviews there. I posted one I think it's #16(about the dirty lounge chairs). We got to watch the shuttle launch from the beach which was very cool. Also, the cruise ships dock there so it's neat to watch them coming and going. I included the link but don't know if it will work.

Hi Christine65...does your father in law rent out his timeshare by any chance in June???? We don't need a week but was just wondering if he would want to rent it out to a nice family of five?! Ha. thanks, Carrie.

Our family stayed there within six months of the opening (2004, I believe). The pool area is fantastic and the kids loved it. I loved the lazy river.

We had a one bedroom with kitchen area. I thought the decor was beautiful. However, we certainly didn't pay $400 a night. Can't remember exactly, be think we paid in the neighborhood of $220.

I realize my information is a little dated, but you weren't getting a lot of responses.

Mc--perhaps I mislead you. We had a one bedroom hotel room, rather than a villa. Sorry. Our room was toward the front lobby, but not a long walk from the pool. Kids would have been 14 and 12 at the time and they thought the pool was awesome. I remember a couple singing in the afternoon by the poolside bar. My husband and I really enjoyed them.

mcmc--FIL is using it this year...otherwise we would have stayed again.
Did you check the tripadvisor reviews? There is really alot of info there.
I thought the rooms were really nice, we were in a 2 bdrm,2bth,full kitchen,it had a washer/dryer,very spacious.
They are very strict in the pool area which is kindof a pain. Supposedly they are trying to keep the 'locals' out but my daughter met several local surfer boys that know how to get past the 'pool guards'.
The walk from hotel to beach isn't that bad, my husband walked it but the rest of us just took the shuttle--easy.

Yes, Christine 65, I have checked the trip advisor reviews. They sound pretty decent. Thanks. I am waiting for the rates to come down and we have PLENTY of time!! (June 2008 Disney Cruise booked). We are deciding between this resort and the Radisson but I think it may be this one we choose exclusively because of the pool. I can handle around $250-300/night if we have to tops, but $400 is too steep for me.
