Harrisburg, PA restaurants

Myself and some business associates will be staying at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Monday evening (7-23). We probably won't arrive until 7:00ish. Any recommendations for a restaurant close by? We would love to try a "local" restaurant as opposed to a chain. Not too fussy - no sushi, but maybe seafood or Italian? Thanks!

I live in the Hershey area. I like Gabriella's Italian restaurant on Jonestown Road. It is a small place, but they do not accept credit cards. But, their food is consistent. If you like Mexican food, Rodeo is quite decent. They are across from the Colonial Park Mall.
Downtown Harrisburg might be a nice option for a group. Second Street has some good American places. Three places I would recommend are Stocks, Scott's and Ceolita's.

Another restaurant not far from your stay is Tuscano, with quite good Italian food in a casual atmosphere. New and locally owned, so far as I know, it's located on Friendship Road about 1 mile from the Sheraton. From the Sheraton, go west on Lindle Road, crossing over I-283, turn right (Eisenhower Blvd) and proceed to the next traffic light (Paxton St), turn left and go about 1/3 mile to Friendship Road on the left ("Sheetz" gas and convenience market on the corner). Tuscano is on the right and shares a building with "Fuddruckers")

I really enjoyed Pesce (955 Eisenhower Blvd, less than a mile from where you're staying, I believe.) It's got a nice atmosphere and quite good food. It bills itself as a "Mediterranean Bistro" and doesn't look promising from the outside--it's in a strip mall--but I found it to be really good!

pal440fcv,

We went to Tuscano's this evening! There were five of us and we all ordered something different. ALL was delicious. Thanks for again!
