Happy Hour in Waikiki?

DH and I are leaving for Hawaii in about 2 weeks. We will be spending the first 5 nights of our vacation in Waikiki, at the Outrigger Waikiki. Does anyone know of any good happy hours for frozen drinks, mai-tais, etc...? Looking to have some late afternoon/pre-dinner drinks a couple of times at some places with nice views, and the option to save a little money. Thanks

This one is Outrigger Reef on the Beach. The hotel is on the beach. I'm not sure the restaurant is. Also try Shorebird in same hotel.

Duke's in the hotel you are staying has a good view and good menu. Don't know about happy hour prices though. Chuck's Steak House in same hotel may have a happy hour and view.

Mai Tai Bar in Royal Hawaiian Hotel - good view.

Tiki's Grill & Bar - Great view, in Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel - Don't know about happy hour

Moose McGillycuddy's - good happy hour. No view though. It's on Lewers just off Kalakaua Ave. Also one on Maui.

Sheraton Waikiki Hotel has a good view. Don't know about happy hour.

One stroll down Kalakaua Ave around 4pm should find you several others.

I liked the Sheraton best. I'm don't think there were happy hour prices though, but I went at sunset and it was excellent. Nice large open terraced space, live music, and fairly mellow atmosphere.

People often recommend the bar at Outrigger Reef but that is always WAY too noisy and crowded for my taste.

If you grab the coupon books at the airport or shopping centers or hotel lobby, there is a $2 Mai Tai Bar coupon. Belle.

OK and of course I have to throw in mine--Don Ho's at Aloha Tower Marketplace has Happy Hour every day. It's remarkable at sunset, very romantic. http://www.donho.com/grill/home.htm

The Sand Bar at Sheraton Waikiki was the spot I mentioned above.

For the save a little money option... buy a carton of POG (passion fruit, orange, guava juices) at any ABC Store and a small bottle of local rum. Hit the ice machine at your hotel. For >$7 you can make up about 6 "mai-tais" ;-)

My vote is for Dukes - make a reservation to sit on the railing overlooking the beach and just stay for sunset and dinner. You can watch the surfers and outriggers on the ocean and see Diamondhead in the background. The maitais at Dukes are some of the best in all of Hawaii and their food is great. There was a trio of Hawaiian singers there that come around to the table to "serenade" - they are a riot - the lead singer is a large 300 lb. woman who kinda flirts w/ the men. We had a great evening here - don't forget to take your camera.
