Hanauma Bay
Tips on Hanauma Bay? Plan to visit early in morning before tide comes in (tide comes in around 1pm) then leave early afternoon for Diamond head.
Best Transportation?
Also, heard Hanauma Bay is closed on Mondays?

I hestitate to mention this as you may already be aware of it, and may have a specific day planned for the trip, and already looked at tide tables for that day. But in case you did not, tides never occur at the same time from one day to the next. High tide will be at 1 PM one day, 1:30 or so the next, 2 or so the next and on and on. What may be common knowledge for those who live on a coast isn't necessarily so for those who don't, and this is one of those areas that can be dangerous at high tide, so...just a caution. If you haven't already, find the tide tables when you get there (and they also differ from location to location) and follow them religiously in any area that can have problems.

The best time to go is early in the morning due to the crowds. It is nicer before all the people get in the water, plus the sand gets a bit stirred up as the day goes on. If you are driving a car, you should go very early -- they close the lot when full and do not let you line up outside. You will have to drive back and forth along the road hoping to be there when they re-open the entrance-- or go later in the afternoon. another good reason to go early is if you'll be renting snorkel equipt you'll avoid the long lines.
You can also take a city bus ($2), a taxi, or a tour.
