Hamptons? Solo, walking distance to ocean, $150.00 or less??
Last week in June, will have car, looking for R&R, very near ocean, area for jogging, rent bikes, no need for night life. Hotel suggestions? Can go mid week M-F. Thanks

Somehow I think that what you are looking for is impossible to find.
That will be the summer season, high high prices everywhere and places within walking distance of beaches are very expensive. Not to mention booked waaay in advance.
I would suggest calling a real estate agent or the Chamber of Commerce and gettin a list of hotels and just start calling. People tend to go back to the good ones so you should hurry to do it soon. Good luck!

I respectfully disagree with previous posters, particularly if you go midweek. You may not get everything you're looking for (price+walking to beach location) but you may get location for more$ or price without walking. You have many options. Here are a few;
The Enclave Inn (I know their locations in Bridgehampton, just outside town on the main road-27 and Wainscott, also on the main road. Unsure of location in
Southampton.) www.enclaveinn.com
Never stayed there or saw the rooms but looks clean & well cared for. The Wainscott location is bigger & newer. There's a bike rental place in Wainscott as well as kayaking. I think they give you a beach pass so you can park at the beach.
Bluff Cottage is in Amagansett-an old, charming home that's a B &b directly across from the beach. I stayed there years ago under different management.
There are a number of motels right on the beach in Amagansett & Montauk. The View in Montauk is supposed to be nice.
The Southampton Inn is a largish modern motel type place right near the movie theater in Southampton (in town). Not too far from the beach. Not terribly charming but clean & convenient with a pool & I think fitness center.
The Maidstone Arms in East Hampton is REALLY charming. It's probably over your budget but very well located with New England style decor & a lovely restaurant & bar.
I do agree a call to the Chamber of Commerce is also a good idea. Many people who rent rooms or cottages list there. The Southampton Chamber of Commerce tel is 631 283 0402.
Post back if you need more suggestions.

Hi
From experience I can tell you that Bluff Cottage and the Maidstone are way over the budget you mention!
Aside from the fact that Bluff is booked well into the season by now.
You might try the Dutch Motel in EH, they are not a walk to the beach but might have something mid-week.

foodiern,
I agree w/mclaurie.
Here's a link to a hotel group in Montauk.
It's not the Hamptons but it's close enough and will probably suit your needs better.
