Hamptons, NY area accommodations

We will be attending a family wedding on the North Fork of Long Island, NY in Peconic. Could anyone recommend places to stay in the general area? We will be there for a long weekend in September. I cannot find much here but did find some negative comments on Expedia about a few places.

Thanks for any suggestions you have for a nice place to stay. If you want to tell us where we shouldn't stay and why, that would be fine also!

there are no big chain hotels (radisson, hampton inn, etc...)any where near peconic. the north fork is strictly bed and breakfasts. your certain to enjoy that if that's your style. or, you can look into hotels 25-30 minutes away on the long island expressway.

I know - lots of BandBs and some small hotels. WE've read good(and expensive- $400+ per night) and not so good comments about a few places. Any suggestions for places to stay, small hotel, which would be both nice and reasonably priced?

do you have access to a car? it wouldn't so bad to get a chain hotel like i mentioned, just a little far away. probobly could get it for less than $150 a night...you can go on the hotel websites and do a search. the results will come up with the mileage from peconic. (25-30 min)

Did you want to stay in the Hamptons area? It's south, not north. You may try reposting with heading, "places to stay on the North Fork of LI".

Marianna, There is a Best Western in Riverhead, about 20-25 miles from Peconic. Check their prices through BW and also Expedia.
