There are alot of hotel/motels south of Newark. I would suggest stopping at one of the rest areas along the turnpike and pick up a hotel guide. The prices are listed and most offer discounts when you mention the coupon book.

I would probably head down to Exit 5 (Mt Holly) or Exit 4 (Cherry Hill) on the Turnpike. There are several hotels off of both exits and they are safe areas. Lots of chain hotels in the immediate areas. I would do a google search to try to come up with something.

Off of exit 8A there are two very nice hotels, I belive a holiday Inn and a courtyard Inn which is fairly new. When you exit bear to the right, both are on the corner of Cranbury south river road. Hope that helps.
