Hamptons in the rain--what to do?

Well, this is finally my long-awaited 3-day weekend in East Hampton... and of course the predicted weather couldn't be more miserable. Can anyone advise me on how to make the best of a bad situation? I know there are wineries on both the North and South forks, but other than that, is there anything to do in the Hamptons when it's raining besides go to the movies and pout?

Note that there are no little kids on this trip, so that's not an issue. Thanks much.

Soggily yours,

Matt

Go to Rowdy Hall restaurant, have a bucket of mussels and a french onion soup and watch whatever sporting event is on.

Pick up a Dan's papers and find the antique stores and garage sales.

There is always great theater at the Bay St. Theater in Sag Harbor and usually there are tickets available.

Check out the Guild Hall for entertainment.

Linger over brunch at the Maidstone Arms.

Take a drive down Further Lane in Amagansett or Georgica Pond in E. Hampton and drool over the mansions.

Paradise Cafe in Sag Harbor is a cafe and bookstore. You could spend half a day there.

Go for off mainstream movies. See whatever independant/foreign film is playing at the Sag Harbor Cinema.

Take the ferry to Shelter Island and play pool at the Chequit Inn.
