First of all - when are you coming and what is your budget for hotels?

Second how old/big are the children - for 6 people you will probably need 2 rooms - unless we're talking infants.

Cheapest way from LGA to the city is probably a car service - but you must tell them how many people and how much luggage - so they send a vehicle big enough (NYC cabs hold only 4 people by law). Try tel aviv or carmel car service web sites for discounts.

You can get back to JFK by public transport - but it requires taking the subway or the LIRR to the Air Train. Relatively easy for adults with little luggage - but may be too difficult if you have a lot of luggage and small children to take care of.

If you give us more info we can provide many more details for you.

Try reposting your question and put New York in the title. All questions sort to the US forum. You will get far more replies.

Please tell us when you are coming and your budget.

Manhattan hotels do not provide airport shuttles. The only hotels that do are right near the airports (and very far from the City or anything you want to see or do).

There are shuttle buses that go from LGA to the city - but they charge $12 per person (and up depending on drop point) for anyone 12 or over. Each adult is allowed one free child. Extra children are charged as adults. So your fare would be at least $36 - depending on the ages of your children - and this drops you at a central point - from where you would have to walk or take a subway or cab to your hotel.

It is possible to take the regular city bus/subway combination to the city for $2 fare each adult and large child. But this requires at least one change and negotiating stairs and passaeways with kids and luggage., Also, these are regular commuter buses with no room for luggage - so could be an issue with 4 kids plus luggage plus baby stuff. (Smaller kids are allowed for free on the assumption that they will sit on parents lap - rather than use a seat - so I couldn;t honestly reco this as a realistic possibility for your group.)

As for a hotel - you need to give us a $ budget and the ages of the kids before we make a reco. There are some all suite hotels that might work for you - or even hostels (private room) - but I'm not sure they will take young kids.

In order to see Manhattan you should really stay IN Manhattan, not out near the airport. It will make everything easier. There are some all suite hotels that would accomodate your family. The Salisbury hotel shows a 1 bedrooms suite available for $289/night plus tax.

The Embassy Suites downtown is another option.

I imagine you will have lots of luggage and baby equipment. You'd be best hiring a car service to get to/from the airport with that many people.

Here's a list of other options but I don't recommend them with that many kids.

I think with 4 kids, car service make the most sense, and can take you do to door. You an probably request a car seat as well. I think the shuttle will a pain with 4 kids and luggage. And it will not take you to the hotel door, you will still need to walk, taxi (2 of them) or take public transportation once you arrive in Manhattan.

As far as hotels, I don't hink there are any bargains for accommodations for 6. You should check the affinia hotels. They are moderately priced, many have suites, most have kitchens, and they all are in decent locations. There website is www.affinia.com.

As far as hotels,
