Greenwood Cemetery
I will be visiting NYC and staying near Penn Station. Would like to see Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn. what is the easiest way to get there? is it safe for a single woman to explore alone?

Cemetary is safe. A subway does run nearby. Vall cemetary for directions. It really is beautiful. It was built by the Victorians as a cemetary-park and was meant as a place to visit for the day.

You take the R train to 25th St (Brooklyn). Then you walk a block. You catch the R at Herald Square, east of Penn at 34th St. Greenwood has a website with directions, info about tours, etc.
