Lilmsfoodie:
The White Chocolate Raspberry mouse cake from Versailes is to die for and so is the food. Also at the base of the Avenue is a little place called Cafe Rue, witht he best cream of asparagus soup in the world. Also great cappacino and dessert , they are across the street from the movie theatre on Railroad avenue.
And to really dream of Paris try "Le Figaro " on the lower right hand side of the Avenue. So authentically French you think maybe Edith Piaf is at the next table.

Pont Neuf is a pastry at Versailles. Puff pastry with carmelized apples, sort of a tarte tatin with some sort of creme anglaise on top that is also carmelized...Glad I don't live there, I'd weigh 2k!
I think I've been to both of the restaurants you mentioned. Greenwich is lovely when all the rhododendrons are in bloom. LMF

Let's think about this one:
1) Greenwich is located about 30 miles out of NYC. Traffic on 1-95 is impossible, and if you take the train, you are left practically in the middle of an office park
2) Once you get to Greenwich, it will be almost impossible to find a parking spot (not to mention impossible to afford to shop at the stores)
3) All the really BIG homes are located way back in the woods, mainly near the NY border.
4) The kids from Greenwich HS have been quarantined for SARS virus.
5) It is a boring, rich New England Town with almost N O T H I N G to do.
So, is there anything good in Greenwich? Yes, for dinner, eat at Abis, a hibachi style restaurant located on US-1 (i think). It is really good I hear. Otherwise, nothing at all to do. Stick to NYC

From today's NY Times:
TUSCAN CONNECTICUT The Delamar, a waterfront hotel in Greenwich, Conn., is marking its opening with nightly rates of $175 and up through June 1. The 83-room hotel, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, will charge $335 and up after that. It is a short walk from the Metro-North Railroad station and the shops along Greenwich Avenue; in lieu of tipping, there is a service charge of $15 a night. For guests who don't take the train, valet parking is included and there is a dock for boats. The décor is meant to evoke a Tuscan home; (866) 335-2627 or at www.thedelamar.com.

This hotel is right by the train stop, a little walk into town but it is on the water. A very upscale makeover. Can't remember the name of the hotel, but it is where I have caught the Connecticutt Limo to LaGuardia for years. Looks interesting and a good thing for Greenwich business travellers.
