Grand Haven or Holland - Michigan

My brother and his family are coming for a family reunion from Australia, as well as siblings from Texas, Georgia, West Virginia, and Nevada. Does anyone know of anything on or near Lake Michigan that one can rent for a week for about 16 of us?
Thanks.

Hi there, there are houses all over Lake Michigan for rent, in all cities. Try www.vrbo.com, or cyber rentals. I jsut rented a condo for Saugutuck, smaller, but they have several houses on those sites.

Have been both to Holland and Grand Haven bunches of times, but were staying in the parks right on Lake Michigan.

I'd think you might prefer Grand Haven as it's so historic and not NEARLY as crowded as Holland. 16 is a lot of people! You might want to Google GH and find some vacation rentals. The date will be important too.

I love Grand Haven because of all the things (nostalgic for me) to do with the Singing Fountains and all the outdoor shows and especially because there is so much opportunity to walk around and see things. Holland is cute too - but has grown so much over the years - lots of kitschy Dutch things that were authentic back in the 40's!

Good luck.

michigan.org has different types of hotels, homes, b&bs listed under each town's name. Might be another good resource for you.

Just another thumbs up for Grand Haven. I have traveled to both Holland and GH and I find GH much better, hands down!

I ALWAYS recommend the Harbor House, which is walking distance to anywhere in GH. They have several rooms and a cottage as well.

Another great town to stay or visit would be Saugatuck, which is just south of Holland. www.saugatuck.com
