Grand Canyon with kids

We will drive through The Grand Canyon (South Rim) on our way from Scottsdale to Colorado. We have been to GC a couple of times but our grand kids, ages 10, 8, and 7 have not been before. We will be the the last week in March and will not have much time. What might be a good trail for kids. What about Bright Angel?

Bright Angel for a mile or so is doable with kids. The trail itself is wide and pretty level side to side. There are however numerous places where kids (or adults) can get into trouble by scampering off trail to places with very steep, long drop offs. If the kids are apt to run off trail and supervising them will drive you nuts, then sticking to the rim trail with lookouts may be a better option.

The other trail you could walk is the S. Kaibab trail You can do a virtual hike on either trail using google maps street view, or look on youtube for a video of the hike.

I agree with J62, but if you are not comfortable with Bright Angel trail, then do a bit of the rim trail, west of BA lodge you can hop on and off the bus (if it is running when you are there), to Hermit's rest.

You can see that it is quite smooth and wide, but has no railings etc., so watch the kids.
I'll attach a picture of Bright Angel trail if I can

I should have added if the mules or a horsback rider comes by when you are on the trail, get close to the wall and face it when they pass, they know where the edge is and will safely walk by you.
