Grand Canyon Kachina

I have slowly been able to change my April GC reservations from Maswick to Kachina streetside to Kachina canyonside. The reservationist said it was Kachina partial view on canyon side. Does anyone know exactly what this means?

Have no idea what partial view might mean, but Kachina is exactly where you want to be and when you check in ask to have full view, either way, you will be a winner.

'Partial view' can just mean that there are a few trees between your window and the canyon rim.

Now that we have reservations for Kachina canyonside. Is there any reason to keep trying for something better? Is there something better?

Kachina is fine. The best (and priciest) is El Tovar which is right next to the Kachina. You can still relax in the rustic lobby of El Tovar and eat at the restaurants in Tovar and Bright Angel. They are all very close to one another.
