Last I had heard, they were having difficulty finding someone to insure the walkway. They were going ahead with construction despite that, so although their website says construction will be completed in spring of '06, it doesn't say anything about an anticipated opening date. As their website says, call for pricing, etc.
Also, keep in mind this is separate from the main part of the S. Rim. It's on the Hualapai reservation west of the main Grand Canyon village.

First I thought this post was a joke, then saw responses so investigated on my own.
I misunderstood first post to mean that the walkway would traverse the entire Canyon - this is not the case. If you read the following site an d others it seems that it just juts out over the Rim several thousand feet.
As one who was afraid to stand on the "glass floor" of the CN Tower in Toronto, there is not chance you would get me on this thing.

Thanks for the replys. I had hoped it would be open for our visit this March. But as it looks like it will not then we shall just have to visit again! I hate heights and get vertigo but am determined to do this!
