Basic shopping center beer boutique - sun dried this, broiled that, good, expensive beer. Located in the Pacific Place shopping center next door to a multiplex cinema, upstairs from Barnes and Noble, other upscale retailers. $8 burgers, you know the scene.

Our family like eating here. The food was much better quality than most chains. Nicely decorated and friendly service. My family do not like going to "fancy" formal restaurants so they were thrilled with this.Everything was good. In fact, we ate there twice.

Gordon Biersch is a chain that started in San Jose, CA. There are five (I think) Gordon Bierschs around the SF Bay area. They have good beer and good food--a little on the high end but it is a microbrewery. It's a place where people meet after work, go to for business lunches, etc. Not sure if it's as fancy as you are thinking.

Monica is right about Gordon Biersch starting in San Jose. I have been to the one here in SJ and thought that the food and beer were very good. It is a little on the pricier side, but worth it. There are several in the suburbs outside of the city along the Peninsula. The one in SJ even has live music in the patio are during the spring and summer. I can't speak for the one in Seattle, but being that it is a chain, I assume that quality will be fairly consistent.

Where was "fancy" implied here? The guy asked about dinner before a "show". What threshold does a restaurant have to meet before being considered suitable for a pre-movie meal? (Even if "show" meant play, it's still fine) The 3 I've visited in the SF area (SJ, Palo Alto, SF) have all been good - actually the best micro-brewery restaurants I've been to anywhere, don't know about the Seattle one however.
