Seattle dinner - near Seattle U - Capitol Hill area
We're staying at the Silver Cloud - Broadway in order to do a college tour of Seattle University. Any suggestions for a fun dinner in the area. Looks like the following might be close by: Garage, Cayenne Bar and Grill, Oseria La spega, Palino Pastaria. Not looking for fancy - more casual. Thanks!

There are loads of options. What kind of food do you and your family prefer?
Cayenne is in your hotel, and it's o.k.
Osteria La Spiga has a great reputation and a big following. I ate lunch at its former location a few years ago and thought it was overpriced.
Pallino is a walk-up-to-the-counter pasta place. It's is o.k.

Lark is a very nice restaurant right nearby. It's a small plate menu, and might be more toward 'fancy' than you want.
You really could walk anywhere on Capitol Hill easy enough... for example up on 15th Ave East there are all kinds of casual places: Coastal Kitchen, Chutney's indian, Jamjuree thai, Jalisco mexican, Olympia pizza, Teapot vegan, Liberty, Hopvine, etc. etc.

Thanks! We are not picky, we love Italian, Mexican, Chinese, burgers, etc.
We like a fun atmosphere more than
fancy and expensive. Thanks for the suggestions. It's going to be Easter Sunday night so I thought I better call some places and make sure they are open.

How about Elysian Brewing Company?

Fun/casual atmosphere, above average pub grub, and excellent beers.

The best Mexican restaurant in the area is the aforementioned Jalisco (near 15th Avenue East and Republican).
Galerias, on Broadway, is also popular, but it’s not a favorite of mine.
For "fun" Mexican, I like Mama's Mexican Kitchen, an authentic Seattle joint on 2nd Avenue in Belltown.
If you like New York Style pizza, Piecora's is a short walk from your hotel. It’s fun.
There are several good Thai restaurants in the area, but no good Chinese restaurants that I know of. Rom Mai Thai (next door to Galerias) probably has the most fun atmosphere. However, Bangkok on Broadway and Jamjuree are also good Thai options.
If inspecting Galerias or Rom Mai Thai appeals to you, walk to Broadway and Roy and you can check them out as well as the DeLuxe—a neighborhood watering hole that serves typical bar grub.
If you have a car, drive to the end of Madison (a couple miles) and eat at Cactus—our best Southwestern restaurant. It has a fun atmosphere and sensible prices.

I think Via Tribunali www.viatribunali.com is a great Italian/Pizza place, very hip in Cap. Hill and not expensive. It's a casual atmosphere with lots of people and good food, probably good for what you're here visiting for. I think Lark has laughably tiny portions but having said that, my experience there was pretty good. Some dishes are very good and others not so great.
