Good Tahoe Hotel close to Heavenly?

Finally booked a trip to ski out west thanks to many of your suggestions!! Many Many Thanks!
Now that we have our flight and our destination we need to book a place to stay. We are planning to stay in South Lake Tahoe area -- skiing and riding (primarily) at Heavenly. We would like to stay in an inexpensive, clean but no frills necessary, hotel/motel/condo that is within walking distance to the gondola (or we're open to lodges that have free ski shuttles that are farther away). I'm hoping for something $100 and under per night. Oh yeah, we'll be there mid-February. (We'll probably go to the casinos one night, but that's not that important to us.)
Any and all suggestions welcome! Thank you!

You can consider staying at the casino since they're right there and you're planning on going there anyway.

I think it's hard to find lodging in south lake tahoe near the gondola and casinos for under $100 but if you are not staying over any of the holiday weekends and especially mid week you may be able to snag a good rate at the casinos. Harrahs and Harveys are within easy walking distance to the gondola.

We've stayed at the Forest Suites twice and been very satisfied. I think it's more than $100 per night, but it was pretty reasonable, and included breakfast.

Nothing much close to the gondola will be under $100 and w/ the two holidays in mid Feb prices will be even higher.
