Tahoe Biltmore Hotel
Has anyone stayed here? I booked it before I read the reviews on tripadvisor.com and now I am questioning whether or not we want to saty here for a couple of days. If you have stayed there please let me know your thoughts on this hotel.
Cheers!

Don't have a clue what lovingheart is talking about. The Lake Tahoe basin is a fabulous place -- but to each his own I guess.
Now, about the Biltmore. There is nothing actually wrong w/ it. But a LOT depends on what you are expecting. this is an old casino hotel and even though they have definitely upgraded, it still has a f0's era atmosphere about it. Do not expect a super deluxe or ultra modern property like some in Reno, at South Shore, or anything like Vegas. It does have a couple of restaurants with value priced meals/buffets and a bar/lounge.
It is more like what old Thaoe casino resorts were like back in the 50's, 60's.
A LOT also depends on how much you are paying . . . . . . .

lovingheart, I don't really understand why you replied if you don't actually have any info regarding the hotel.
FYI, I will be there for a wedding so I am certain I want to stay there for two nights. I love Lake Tahoe.
Cheers.

I stayed at the Biltmore for two nights because my friends were getting married at the Hyatt in Incline Village and I didn't want to spend $300+ per night. I payed $70 at the Biltmore.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fairly new and clean but the carpet should have been replaced 10 years ago.
There was also a VERY loud clanging at 7:00 one morning and 8:00 the next morning that the front desk said was due to the heat being turned on. It sounded like someone was hammering on the pipes with a wrench just outside our window. I actually recorded the noise with my Palm Pilot and played it for the folks at the front desk. They took $20 off the total bill which I didn't feel was just compensation since we were up both nights until after 2 a.m.
I guess you get what you pay for!
