good place to stay in Seward

Anyone have any recommendations for one night, pre-cruise, in Seward?

On my visits there, I've stayed at the Edgewater. Clean and comfortable rooms at a reasonable price, and they include a continentle breakfast. Best of all, they have a computer in the lobby for checking e-mail, a relative rarity in Alaskan hotels and motels.

It's right on the bay at the edge of downtown and only a few blocks from the Marina and cruise ship docks.

We stayed at Puffin Inn - rooms were standard motel type - but the floor/ceiling made it sound like elephants were upstairs. I imagine if you stayed on the 2nd floor it would be OK, but see if yu get other recommendations.

We stayed at Puffin Inn

Gail, are you sure this was in Seward? The only Puffin Inn I know of in Alaska is in Anchorage on Spenard ...

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express this past August. Nice and right next to the small boat harbor. Stayed at the Edgewater eight years ago (HI Express did not exist then) and it was nice as well. I believe the Edgewater is now a Best Western. It is close to the Sea Life Center.

Bill - you are correct - I had not had coffee yet. Now I am going to have to dig up name of the hotel in Seward with the elephants upstairs.
