I can't think of anyplace that isn't 'kid-friendly'. I always suggest THe Parsons Table in Little River, but it would depend on what part of MB you are staying in.

If you are on the south side of Myrtle, I highly recommend Lee's Inlet Kitchen in Murrell's Inlet and T-Bones just south of there.

Thanks...I'll look into those! I should say that my 'kids' are teens---so it's not too bad, but, still I know they don't want to go fancy. We will be staying in the older area of Mrytle Beach---about 1/2 mile or so north of the downtown area--if that makes sense.

Sounds like you'll be in the vicinity of the Sea Captain's House, a Myrtle Beach institution:

For burgers, I'd go with River City Cafe, with a few locations around town, although Murrell's Inlet is the best location.

Preston's Calabash Seafood Restaurant, buffet with option for crablegs. Lots of food, decent price.

Personal opinion but any seafood buffet is poorly cooked and expensive. Crab legs are not a SC specialty!
Go south to Murrell's Inlet for the best restaurants on the southeast coast. There is a little "shack" of a place called Inlet Crab Restaurant that has excellent seafood. Creek Ratz is fun and good food. Nance's is a big ole restaurant that has the best oyster roast on the coast. Russell's is good. Further down in Pawley's Island is The Island Deli and Restaurant--not a deli at all, but a very good restaurant. All these will be cooked to order and not put on a buffet under a heat lamp!! If you want upscale dining (but still very casual dress acceptable) try Frank's in Pawley's Island. Truly delicious gourmet food at the same price as a buffet!

I am going to second and thrid the comments about going to Murrell's Inlet. Lots of great places down there and since it is after peak season in MB, the traffic will not be bad to get there. If you like Japanese, we always go to the one at Broadway at the Beach. Planet Hollywood is fun too.

You will be there at the beginnig of Oyster season. The Oyster Festival (This year in Ocean Isle) is the 18th & 19th. Well worth a stop.http://www.brunswickcountychamber.or...r-festival.cfm

I agree about Murrell's Inlet having some great food, but I thought maybe the buffet would be more kid friendly. And if they are BIG kids with BIG appetites it might be cheaper at a buffet than individual orders.
Either way, Murrel's Inlet has lot to offer but don't be fooled by the shabby appearance of many restaurants there. I'll defer to others who have been more recently, it has been abour 4 years since we were there, but before that we were there every year for many years.
Have a great time!

Thanks! I'm getting a good list together. I am not a fan of the buffet...but, I agree w/Challiman that my teens love them & they do fill them up---so, we may have to hit one.
