Going to New Orleans and need great suggestions for Restaurants

I will be in New Orleans next week for the first time with friends and my husband for 5 nights, and I want to know the best restaurants to go for dinner and Sunday brunch. Also, I would love suggestions for touristy things to do on the weekend. Thanks for any help!

I think you may need to be more specific. Are you looking for any specific area? Are you bringing dressy clothes? Are you looking for fine dining more local fare? New Orleans has so many good restaurants that it's hard to find a bad meal, just some much better than others. Jean

A few (maybe 3 or so) years ago we did Emeril's Delmonico for Sunday brunch. It was more reasonably priced than we expected, and the food, service, and amentiies were unbelievable. We took a cab there, but opted for the trolley back to the quarter, it runs, and stops right in front of Delmomico.

We enjoy Irenes . . 539 St. Phillip Street (at Chartres)in the Quarter

Good food and good service. No reservations so go early.

We had a great Valentine's Day dinner at Muriel's -- right off Jackson Square, convenient walk from there up to Pat O'Brien's for a Hurricane.
