Going to Key West

Need help.

Where can I stay in March that is reasonably priced. I would need to be able to get to the Pier House pretty fast.

Then do I fly into Orlando and drive down?

Or what would you suggest?

Miami is 250 miles closer to Key West than Orlando.

Yeah it is isn't it? LOL I don't know why I had forgotten that.

I'll fly into Miami obviously.

Where to stay around Pier House that is affordable?

Affordable and March in Key West do not mix. You could try Simonton Court which is a couple of blocks away I believe. What is your budget?

Try keywestinns.com - most have the ability to chcek rates online. There are so many places from which to choose. There is a Holiday Inn but it usually doesn't have very good rates. The Pilot House had good rates in the past... Good luck !

Why not fly directly in to Key West? If your time there will be at all limited, you can save 8 hours on the road (4 down from Miami and 4 back) by flying in. The Pier House is one of several hotels side by side on the Gulf. The others are: the Westin (formerly the Hilton and without many reviews since the change), the Ocean Key Resort (fabulous), the Hyatt Resort and Marina (great), and our favorite, the Galleon, which is a timeshare that rents to non-owners. The locations are all great, but none will be inexpensive. The good news is that none will be affordable to spring breakers, so there will be relative calm. On the less expensive end of the spectrum are the Best Western Hibiscus and the Southernmost Hotel. Both get good reviews, but they're on the opposite side of the island.
