Going to Cape Cod in late March/Early April - good idea?

Hello! We are thinking about a trip to Boston around late March/early April, and I was wondering whether it would be feasible to stay on Cape Cod for a few days. I was looking at Hyannis as there are a few accommodation options that fit our budget, and it is the easiest to get to on public transport from the city (neither of us can drive so we won;t be hiring a car) and means we could look at taking the bus up to Provincetown or elsewhere. Is it still a pleasant place to visit at this time of year? Will there be enough to see and do? Thanks in advance!

You might want to take a look at responses to a similar post on Fodors:

And this one on TripAdvisor:

I have had a look around - a lot of posts assume that you do have access to a car, so I thought I'd be cheeky and start my own topic

You can certainly go, but there may still be snow. However, I don't think it's advisable to do this in the off-season if you don't have a car, and quite a bit will still be closed until early May. I'm not saying you can't do it, but I wouldn't recommend it.
