Going Against Traffic in LA?

Does such a concept exist? I need to make it from Beverly Hills to North Hollyood in morning rush hour in 30 minutes. Is this at all possible?

iffy. if you take sidestreets, there are lots of traffic lights. freeways are clogged. do you have any flexibility with the time you need to hit the road? if so, pls consider leaving after the the morning rush hour. or, leave early to avoid the morning commuters. good luck!

It'll be close but you should be able to make it .... of course depending on your start and end places ... take Coldwater Canyon across the hills, most of the traffic is going into BH in the morning ...

Great, thanks. I'll try Coldwater CAnyon. Unfortuantely, I have no flexibility. Meeting starts right at 10 am and I'm done with the other one at 9:30. Sound like the highways are really bad in either direction.

If you post your start and end points, I can give you some specific streets. Coldwater is likely the best road over the hills, but I might be able to help with some left turns to avoid.

wow, thanks xkenx. I'm starting at Roxbury Drive and Olympic Blvd. and ending at Laurel Canyon Blvd in North Hollywood (directions say exit 14 toward Studio City).

Take Olympic east to Beverly (if you're on the south side of Olympic), or Gregory to Beverly (if you're on the north side of Olympic). Left (north) on Beverly, crossing Wilshire and Santa Monica Bl. When you get past Elevado, bear to the right past the little park, and cross Sunset. Beverly runs into Coldwater. Coldwater to Mulholland (going left on Mulholland), then, after 1/2 mile or so, continuing right on Coldwater. Go down the hill into the Valley, crossing Ventura Bl, Moorpark, and the 101 Fwy. The traffic will be ugly in the other direction, but not bad in your direction. Stay to the right going under the fwy. 'cause you're going to take the next right on Riverside Dr., then left on Laurel Cyn. (1/2 mile). Riverside is at 4800 Laurel Cyn. North Hollywood starts @ Burbank Bl.(5600) Every 1/2 mile is another 400 block numbers. Allow >30 min, but this is the quickest route, even non-rush hour. Good luck!

xkenx,
I cannot thank you enough for your detailed directions to North Hollywood. I made it to my meeting to the minute...if it had not been for your directions, I would have been about 25 minutes late!! They were perfect.
Thank you so much!
