Go SF/Napa: is it too late to plan?
As a plan ahead Virgo, our trips are usually researched months in advance, or else a spur of the moment thing.
We have 2 SW FF tix that expire in February and we want to go to SF/wine country. (never been there). Is it too late to get good hotel rooms/bed and breakfast? Good restaurants?
Would it be better to fly into San Jose or Oakland?
Does this sound right: Wine country during the week, city on the weekend? Would later October be much different than first week?
Any opinions greatly appreciated.

You have lots of time. Your plan for wine country during the week and city on the weekend is good. I think the wine harvest is usually in mid September / early October so keep that in mind.
Flying to OAK is easier to use public transportation (BART) to reach SF.
You don't need a car in SF. Parking is expensive (most hotels charge $30-40/day).

We're going to Napa over Labor Day and when I started searching for a B&B/hotel in May I found most places were almost sold out (if not sold out already). I'm sure you'll find something, but you might have to be less choosy. We're staying at the Candlelight Inn in Napa. Have fun!
