Glacier itinerary - Feedback Needed

We are going up to Glacier/Waterton Lakes area for a week in June (20-28) this summer and was wondering if this sounds like an ok itinerary.

Day 1: Arrive via air and drive to St. Mary and stay in the St. Mary Lodge and Resort
Days 2-4: Spend three days exploring East Glacier
Evening Day 4: Drive to Waterton Lakes and stay at the Crandell Mt. Lodge.
Days 4-7. Spend three days exploring that area.
Day 7: Drive back to Whitefish to stay at Good Medicine Lodge via Hwy 2 - Road to the Sky is supposed to be closed until July this year
Days 7-8: Spend day and a half in Whitefish area exploring West Glacier.

I am wondering if she should spend one less day in Waterton and one more day in the Whitefish area?

Thanks in advance for your feedback and suggestions.

Daniel

I'd stick with your plan if Going to the Sun Highway is closed. If it happens to be open it's likely a lot of trails upthere will still be closed. I don't find that much to see/do around Whitefish unless you golf or ski.

Thanks for the feedback. We found a place to stay in Whitefish called the Good Medicine Lodge. It looks like a wonderful place to stay. They owners say they are about 40 minutes from Glacier. Is that the typical driving distance from that area or should we try to find something a bit closer?
Thanks,
Daniel

Be sure to drive into Many Glacier. One of best places to see grizzly. They also have some great trails if not snowed in. Could also visit Two Medicine area which is lower in elevation. Outside of Walton is the goat overlook where Mt goats come down to eat mineral salts out of the ground.
Don't forget to take your birth certificate or passport with you to get back into the states.

I'm not sure what you mean by typical driving distance, but that's about how far it is from the Good Medicine Lodge to West Glacier.

Whitefish is a fun, little town. We like to go for three day weekends, shop a little, hike a little, and eat at the Tupelo Grille.

Thanks, kureiff. I think what I meant by typical, was whether or not there were any places closer to West Glacier that we should consider.
