Annabelle - add me to list of fearful flyers - but I also somehow deal with it and fly because I want to or need to go places.
My trick in flight is when I hear some terrifying noise or go thru some life-threatening (or so I think) turbulence is to check out bahavior of flight attendants. If they appear concerned, I then give myself permission to panic (it has never happened).
I am not interested in going on your charter Fodor fearful flight. Why fly when I do not have to. And imagine being trapped on a plane with a bunch of nut cases like me.
I also have rejected the idea of taking a fear of flying course, because I am convinced that flying is inherently dangerous (how could something as big as a plane actually fly - and I know how, have taken enough physics courses to understand - but I still don't believe it). Why take a course to convince me plane is not going to crash when I know in my heart it will.
