Getting a marriage license in Honolulu

Hi, I'm getting married in Hawaii and have only one day to get a marriage license before the wedding. I'm a tiny bit concerned that I haven't allowed too much time to get my license. Is it much of a hassle to get the license? Do I need an appointment or should I just get there as soon as they open? Thanks for your advise!

Marriage License in Honolulu, Hawaii
To get your Marriage License, the two of you should go to:
Hawaii Department of Health
1250 Punchbowl St.
Honolulu, Hawaii 96813
(808) 586-4545
On weekends, contact a Health Dept. Agent for an appointment.

Trisha, I found this off a quick Google for "Hawaii marriage license". Why don't you call them and ask your questions.

I have tried calling but end up in a phone tag situation. I am 5 hours difference here in Tx. I just haven't been able to reach a live person. I also, just wanted to here other people's experiences in getting their license. Was is much of a hassle? It would also, be helpful if I had an email address to an agent so, that I can contact someone with out voice mail.

Trisha, it has been thirteen years since we got married there, but there were no problems getting the license. No hassle, no wait. I do recommend going early in the day. Best wishes!

Oh sorry, I wasn't sure from your post how much research you'd already done. Hopefully someone has been in your exact situation and will help you out.

We got married last summer on Oahu. We got there 2 days before the wedding, so on that first day, we went to the marriage license office downtown. They did not have appointments. We went in, took a number, while waiting filled out the paperwork, then when the clerk calls you, you go in to the desk, she takes your info, your cash ($60, I think?), and you get your license. We had about 3 people ahead of us in line at about noon. Took less than an hour. I'm not sure how the process works on the other islands. Also, have your officiant's name, because the clerk asked for it, and she looked the officiant up on her computer to make sure he was in their system.
