Germantown???

My hubby and I live in Mpls and our fav comedien will be at Giggles in Germantown in June. I've never been to Milwaukee.. a question:

Looks like Giggles is about 30 miles from teh airport ( i still havent decided if we'll drive the 5 hours or just fly).. are there any decent hotels/restaurants by there? Or should we stay downtown? And if so where?

Thanks for the help!!

If you find that you aren't getting a lot of responses, you might want to repost with the state (and maybe Milwaukee?) in the title. There are Germantowns in many states, Illinois and Pennsylvania, right off-hand.

I was so excited for a minute. I thought someone actually wanted to know about my childhood home -- Germantown, Ohio.

And I assumed it was either Germantown in DC, or Germantown in Memphis.

Gretchen, you have my deepest sympathies. I know right where you were, by the way.

Lived in a hour west of Mpls growing up now live 25 north of Germantown. If you've got the time why not drive. Probably a 5 1/2 hour trip. Yes, Germatown is a small city north of Milw. but not much in it. Hotels on Hwy 41/45 Germantown exit "Countyline Road". A few restaruants & hotels in that area. Also check out Menomonee Falls - same area as Germantown to stay.

I posted an answer to your other Germantown post. Jerry's Old Town is known for ribs. There's also a Mexican restaurant.

There are some chain hotels, but nothing special.

There is a new Bed and Breakfast Inn a few miles west of Germantown called the Cold Spring Inn, if you're into that kind of hotel. It's in a beautiful remote location. Check their website. There is a Country Inn and Suites on Mequon Road that's not bad. For a real adventure, there's the Sybaris Pool Suites about 5 miles east in Mequon. For restaurants in the area, the Fox and Hounds is a wonderful place in a historic building about 5 miles west of Germantown. And of course, Jerry's is great for ribs. In Richfield, try Amici's for great local italian food and pizzas. If you're looking for night life, stay downtown in Milwaukee. The clubs in the Germantown area are nothing special.
